Model Museum
Notable AI models since 2017, arranged by era and by wing.
What It Is
Notable AI models since 2017 on one floor of a museum. Eras run down the side and wings run across, legal included.
Why We Are Researching It
AI models appear faster than anyone can keep track of. We are researching how to lay out their history so a reader can see eras, kinds of model and labs at once, with a source behind each entry.
How It Works
- Each row is an era and each column is a wing, such as text, code, image, video, audio and legal.
- Nearly every entry links to its source, and entries not yet verified are flagged.
- Research agents collected the entries wing by wing, and a build step merged and de-duplicated them.

Inspired by The Model Museum by RyanSael (sael.net), whose 29 landmark cards supplied the facts on the gold-ringed exhibits.
