    Paste an AI tool's response back into the restore panel with the mapping file to swap the placeholders back to the original names and details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this tool actually do?
It scans the text you paste for patterns like names, company names, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs, amounts, dates and ID numbers, then shows you each match so you can confirm, reject or add one yourself. Confirmed matches are replaced with a typed placeholder such as [COMPANY-1] or [PERSON-2]. Nothing is sent anywhere while this happens.
Is the output anonymous?
No. The output is pseudonymised, not anonymised. A saved mapping file can turn the placeholders back into the original text, so keep that file as carefully as the document itself. If you need data that cannot be re-identified by anyone, pseudonymisation is not that.
What kinds of entities does it look for?
People's names (Latin script), company names (including common suffixes like LLC, W.L.L., PJSC, SAL, SARL, FZ-LLC, and Arabic suffixes such as ذ.م.م), bank names, email addresses, phone numbers in several MENA formats, IBANs, monetary amounts, dates and ID-style numbers such as an Emirates ID or a passport number.
Why typed placeholders like [COMPANY-1] instead of one generic [CLIENT]?
A 2026 study (arXiv 2609.11335) found that replacing entities with one generic category label hurt model performance more than giving each entity its own distinct pseudonym, though the study tested general reasoning benchmarks and no legal task specifically. Distinct, numbered placeholders keep the document's structure legible to an AI tool while still removing the real names.
Does my document ever leave my browser?
No. Detection, redaction and restoration all run locally in your browser. You can confirm this yourself by opening your browser's network panel while you use the tool.
What should I check before I trust the result?
Read the list of matches yourself. The rules behind this tool are pattern-based, not a language model, so they will miss some entities and occasionally flag something that is not one. Add anything missed with the manual selector, and remove anything flagged in error, before you copy the redacted text out.
