United Kingdom: where to read the law

legislation.gov.uk is the official source and its 'as amended' view is the one that matters — the 'as enacted' text of a much-amended Act is a historical document, not the current law. Case law is now published officially through the Find Case Law service at the National Archives, which is newer than BAILII and increasingly the better first stop; BAILII remains deeper on older material.

This is a directory, not a summary of the law. Nothing here tells you what a rule says - it tells you where the authoritative text lives so you can read it yourself. Links last checked .
